About the artist

Patty is a realist painter who works primarily with oil paint. She feels realism offers the opportunity to express the complexity of the visual world in many ways. It also offers the greatest opportunity to communicate clearly with viewers because of the shared connection to the external world.

She is drawn to colorful subjects with rounded forms or a natural linear pattern. Her work combines familiar subjects with a modern palette of warm, rich colors. Outdoor paintings often reflect the light and color of the Impressionists.

Patty began painting in watercolor and studied at the Chagrin Valley Art Center with illustrators from American Greetings. After selling several early paintings, she studied art at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland and the American Academy of Art in Chicago.
